Unless, in the future, there is a need to re-open the forum, as I mentioned in an earlier post, the forum will now close. It will remain on-line as an archive to the events of 2006 and various aspects of the 1916 Battle of the Somme.

I may well re-open it in 2008 for the anniversary of the 1918 actions on the Somme.

Thank you all for your excellent input and an enjoyable forum, with some important contributions.

Additional Note - 30 December 2006

In order to lock down the forum I had to move all members into a new group called 'Members1'. Unknown to me the software sent round an email informing all members of this - it doesn't mean anything except you can still read the forum but cannot post or PM etc.
