| Sensational and very emotive photos. Well done. The ones at Fromelles particularly striking, as are the 'going down of the sun' landscapes. I very much hope to get similar ones in June/July. Weather looking much better in Paris. Hope it holds out for the ceremonies and summer in general! |

Tomorrow we will be back at the Somme ( again) to do the Ancre Valley walk from Paul's book.
Wish me luck, I always have the feeling that the Dutch are the lesser "walkers" _________________ www.forumeerstewereldoorlog.nl |

Lucky you Yvonne..
If possible maybe you can post some more pictures on your return for us, ideally one straight down Mill Road towards the Ulster Tower?
Have a great trip, hope the weather's ok.
Thanking you

We had a great day, it was dry and a bit windy and as usual I may say , things didn't go as planned.
The things we visited before our walk took so much time that we take the walk another time.
For us it's only a 3 hour drive, and I'm a winter/spring visitor, so next time we drive straight forward to the beginning point of the Ancre-walk
And we took a rest in Beaucourt-station and there we had long talks and it was dark before we knew it
Pics are coming this week, we took about 189
and I have to make a selection.
We discovered a nice German monument on a farmers land and on the public graveyard in Courcelette a German and an Englishman, he was buried in the 1930's and worked for the war graves commission.
This is the short version! _________________ www.forumeerstewereldoorlog.nl |
